ALBERT POULTER
Albert was serving during WWII on the I Class Destroyer
HMS Intrepid when she was Bombed and
sunk
by German aircraft, Leros Harbour (Greece) 27-09-43. He would
like to find members of the crew who survived from Intrepid.
Albert now lives in Orpington, Kent his e-mail is
abpoulter@ntlworld.com
Albert had opportunity to vist the port of Lakki where Intrepid
lies recently, he was saddened that there were plaques for the
Germans Italians and Greeks who died in the area but nothing to
commemorate those from the Intrepid. He tried to get the
Government to rectify what he thinks is an injustice but was
told he would have to pay for the plaque. If anyone knows
procedure for sorting this sort of dedication out can they
please contact
info@hmsfearless.org.uk so we
can try to help. |
